Originating in Paris, France, Tecktonik is a form of dance based on a blend of hip hop and techno styles, borrowing heavily from cyberpunk. Hardstyle is the main music style associated with Tecktonik. However, it has also become a prominent style of dancing to Electro house.

Because Krumping is so last season...
Kylie- Numero Magazine.
Kylie in the May issue of French magazine Numero, styled by Jean-Paul Gaultier. A tag on one of the pictures reads:
It is our own Jean Paul Gaultier who has the honor to dress the tiniest of big names in pop, the sparkling Kylie Minogue. On the eve of the European tour for her latest album X, the Australian singer unveils three costumes.
The second picture is [rather] reminiscent of Madonna's biker chic look shot by Mondino in 1990, used for the "Justify My Love" CD Single.

MISSHAPED.
Started in 2002, Misshapes defined an era of hip- young New Yorkers with its soundtrack of almost-new music [Bloc Party, Arcade fire] tinged with old gay classics [Cher], alongwith skinny jeans and asymmetrical haircuts. The party [sadly] came to end five years later, but not before having some of the hippest, most cutting-edge DJs, models, rock stars and what have yous gracing its [legendary] white wall snapshots [ everyone from Agyness Deyn to Cindy Sherman and Hedi Slimane]. Photographs by Scott Meriam.
Before Madonna was like a virgin....
This one's from the archives: unwashed hair, Nefertiti eyes, plastic bangles and that infectious schoolgirl laugh. Interesting mentions include [amongst many others] going to England [how prophetic], Warhol, Vivienne Westwood and an upcoming record [aptly] titled "Like A Virgin".

Vintage Linda!
Model of the Season (A/W 0809)
Known for her bizarre “death stare” and ‘zombie walk’(watch the video and you’ll know what I mean) Karlie Kloss seems to be the new IT girl and my favourite Model of the Season. She is all of 15 but she has walked for all the big shows like Gucci, McQueen, Viktor & Rolf. Major campaigns are sure to follow, watch this space for major updates.
Nationality: American
Birthday: August 3rd 1992
Agencies: Marilyn Agency, Next, Why Not
Height: 5’11

In My Shoes!
Guess who's Back???
So I’m finally back in town and strangely enough it feels great. Not that I dislike Dubai but it gives me that very dry vibe, everything out there looks manmade and somehow feels very unnatural . Nevertheless it’s a great place for shopping and partying and boy, did I shop. And who knows, maybe in the near future I might be working there.
On another note, the view from my friend’s apartment where I was staying had the most fantastic view and it’s at the Dubai Marina, which is apparently “the” place to stay. T’was rather nice and close by is the Buddha bar where we went for dinner, unfortunately I forgot my camera so I have no shots of the beautiful place (the men’s loo looks fantastic but don’t get me wrong. I mean strictly for urinal purpose).

New Girl On The Block
Well not exactly, Smita Lasrado has been modelling for maybe two three years but I never quite liked her until last Lakme Fashion Week where I thought she looked amazing and tranformed herself so well. I met here again this season for Saybasachi's show looking super cool and then she tells me she's not based in India anymore but in Paris. Shes trying the circuit next season, I hope shes rocks Paris Fashion Week. LUCK LUCK LUCK Smita!!! ( Some of her ramp shows for Rakesh Aggarwal, Nachiket Barve and Wendell Rodricks last season) She is right now with Elite India.
Update: Sorry she is not with Elite anymore
Lakme Fashion Week
Best Collection goes to Sabya!
My favourite collection at the Fashion week was Sabyasachi’s collection. At this stage where there are so many Sabya wannabes he still managed to be so very unique and true to his signature style. The silhouettes were more fitted than his usual free flowing stuff but not to say there weren't a few of them loose thingys. The set was beautiful and the lighting for a change had a beautiful yellow light instead of the usual washed out white lighting. Miss Carol and Miss Bhavna obliged to pose for me outside the venue with their full make up and hair done.(Ramp pictures courtesy Rediff.com)
