This video seems to be the most discussed issue right now on the net. I do respect Ali Michael for speaking out but I dont think that wont change the Fashion Industry much. I also feel that the Fashion Industry is always a target when there are other important issues to think about. Ali is although the first successful model to talk about weight issues so openly after she got cut off from the Paris Fashion Week because they thought her thighs were too big. I mean seriously, wont you freak out if you havent had your periods for two months let a year and by the way, her mother always accompanies her to all shows and shoots. Didnt she know??

I SECOND IT. EATING DISORDER IS RAMPANT AMONG EVEN REGULAR PEOPLE, ITS NOT A FASHION DISEASE! IF THERE ARE 5-6 MODELS SUFFERING FROM EATING DISORDERS THERE ARE ALSO HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WHO LOOK PERFECTLY ALRIGHT AND ARE FINE WITH ALL THE FOOD THEY NEED, I MEAN I WOULDNT LIKE IT IF SOMEONE CALLED MY THIGHS FAT, BUT IF I M NOT A MODEL I DONT CARE, IF I AM ONE I NEED TO WORK OUT MORE, SIMPLE, AND THAT DOESNT NECCESSARILY IMPLY THAT ONE SHOULD STOP EATING HEALTHY, HOW CAN WE BE SO DICONNECTED AND BLINDLY BLAME THE FASHION FRAT? BUT WELL LIKE THEY SAY "IF YOU ARE HATED YOU MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT"
i disagree. pressure can make you do many many thngs even you 'd never imagined you could succomb to and for someone whose bread and butter ARE her thigs having them called "fat" (which, undoubtedly, is some kind of very bizarre and very obvious overstatement - she's a model. an anorexic one at that. how many cms over anorexic=fat on the ramp??) prbably sent her over the edge.
i also want t point out that her mother was probably unaware, not bc she's blind as bats (though she may well be, i dont know) but bc everyone who abuses their bodies this way is ashamed of it and hides it the very best they can. i imagine a very thin girl would manage to disguise her getting thinner from her mother fairly easily.
the whole saga is just sad.
